Sean Lloyd Takes the win on Quaboag Pond

Sean Lloyd of Springfield, Ma won the RAM American Fishing Tour Presented by American Bass Anglers, Massachusetts Division 97 championship.   Blasting out of Quaboag Pond near Brookfield, MA it was a beautiful weekend for the championship.  Temperatures both days started around the  60's in the morning and peaked around the high 70's by weigh in.

Sean Lloyd of Springfield, MA won RAM American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Massachusetts Division 97 tournament.  The event was held on 07/09/2017 on Long Pond near Sturbridge, MA. It was a beautiful 80-degree day, spent on the water with an excellent group of friends.

Lloyd Wins on Lake Congamond 

Sean Lloyd of Western, Massachusetts won the AFT D97 event held on October 2nd on Lake Congamond. Lloyd's five fish limit tipped the scales at 14.40 pounds. Anchored by the "Radfish Lures lunker", a 4.92 largemouth. Sean's fish were again fooled by a spinnerbait built by Eric Supinski of Underground Lures dubbed the "Double Wide" in a sexy shad pattern.

Lloyd Wins on Otis

Sean Lloyd of Western, Massachusetts won the AFT D97 event held on September 25th on Otis Reservoir. The group launched out of the State Ramp in Tolland, Massachusetts with temps at takeoff in the low 40's. Lloyd caught five fish weighing 7.72 pounds. Lloyd caught his fish on a prototype "double wide" spinnerbait built by Underground Lures.

Gagliarducci Wins 2-day on Lake Champlain

Al Gagliarducci of West Suffield, Connecticut won the AFT D97 2-day Divisional Championship held August 13th and 14th on Lake Champlain in Port Henry, New York. Al decided early on to take the long ride to the Ticonderoga area and it paid off with a 2-day limit of largemouths weighing 32.76 pounds. Big Fish also went to Al for bringing in a 5.62-pound largemouth on Day-2 beating the mark he set on day one when he brought in one weighing 4.74 pounds. For his win, Al took home a check for $752 as well as the title of Division 97 AOY.

LeBlanc Wins on East Brimfield Reservoir

Paul LeBlanc of Medway, Massachusetts won the D97 event held July 17, 2016 on East Brimfield Reservoir with a weight of 21.55 pounds. Paul caught most of his fish flipping a brush hog in the grass but also managed to catch them with a buzzbait early on.  Anchoring Paul’s bag was a pair of 5 pound largemouths. For his win, Paul took home a check for $432 as well as some needed points.

Sheron Brown Wins at Webster Lake

Sheron Brown of Leominster, MA won the Division 97 tournament held May 22, 2016, on Webster Lake in Webster, MA with a total weight of 16.02 pounds. Sheron caught his limit early and upgraded throughout the day. His catch included the big fish of the day, a 5.04 pound largemouth.

Sean Lloyd won the Ram American Fishing Tour Division 97 tournament held May 1, 2016, on Quaboag Pond in Brookfield Mass. Sean managed to catch a limit. His five bass of 11.56 pounds earned Sean a first place along with a check for $451.

Henry Fristik Wins on Congamond Lake

Henry Fristik won the American Bass Anglers Ram American Fishing Tour Division 97 tournament held April 17th, on Congamond lake in Southwick Massachusetts.  Henry was one of only two anglers that managed to catch a five bass limit with a total of 17.64 pounds anchored by a 5.13 pound largemouth.  Fish were caught with a variety of techniques but it seemed that slow moving baits attracted the most fish. For his win, Henry took home a check for $543.

Tim Brecht Wins Division 97 Two-Day Championship

Tim Brecht won the American Bass Anglers Ram American Fishing Tour Division 97 Two-Day Championship held August 15-16, 2015 on the Connecticut River in Massachusetts. After Day One, Tim was in fourth place, 5.52 pounds behind the leader. Day Two brought some changes in the leader board with the Day One leader not bringing any fish to the scales, while Tim managed a solid five fish limit that included a 5.97 pound kicker that allowed Tim to weigh 4.64 more pounds than the Day Two second place angler. Tim's Two Day weight was 20.38 pounds. For his efforts, Tim took home a check for $752, as well as, the title of Division 97 Angler of the Year.  

This was Tim’s fifth win of the 2015 season, tying the division's record for most wins in a season.

Second place went to Mark Schultz who took home a check for $326 for his 18.65 pounds of bass.

Both days were hot and humid with little wind and plenty of pleasure boat traffic.  Tim's fish were all caught in five feet of water or less on a weightless Senko.

Tim Brecht Wins on Lake Wampanoag

Tim Brecht won the American Bass Anglers Division 97 tournament held July 26, 2015 on Lake Wampanoag in Gardner MA. Tim caught five bass weighing 9.24 pounds. For the victory, Tim took home a check for $313.  All of his fish were taken with a weightless Senko in very shallow water.  This is Tim’s fourth win this season.  His wins came in Sept 2014, June 2015, and July 2015.  He is currently in the lead for division AOY with only the two-day championship remaining.                                                                                          

In second among the competitors, was Dwight Dion who caught five bass weighing 8.11 pounds and pocketed a check for $128.

Charlie Jutras Wins on Congamond Lake

 

Charlie Jutras won the RAM American Fishing Tour Division 97 tournament held July 12, 2015, on Congamond Lake in Southwick, Mass.

Charlie managed to catch five bass weighing 16.53 pounds on a hot, humid day on a lake filled with pleasure boaters. For the victory, Charlie took home a check for $376.  His fish were caught in a variety of ways, but deep cranking seemed to get his best fish.                                                

In second among the competitors, was Al Gagliarducci who caught five bass weighing 13.23 pounds including the big fish of the day, a 4.13 pound largemouth.

Tim Brecht Wins on Buffumville Lake

Tim Brecht won the American Bass Anglers Division 97 tournament held June 28, 2015, on Buffumville Lake in Charlton, MA.

Tim caught five bass weighing 15.67 pounds with a 5.06 pound kicker that was .06 pounds shy of being the big fish of the day. For the victory, Tim took home a check for $425.  All his fish were taken with a weightless Senko in very shallow water.  This was Tim’s second win in a row and his third win in 2015, which has put him on top in the divisional AOY race.                                

In second among the competitors, was Paul Figueiredo who caught five bass weighing 11.41 pounds, including his 5.12 pound lunker. Third place was won by Craig Pikul.

It rained most of the day, clearing just in time for weigh-in.  Strong winds blew for most of the day, gusting to 30mph.

Tim Brecht Wins on Otis Reservoir

Tim Brecht won the American Bass Anglers Division 97 tournament held June 7, 2015, on Otis Reservoir in Otis, MA.

Tim caught five bass weighing 11.64 pounds with a 3.63 pound kicker that was also the tournament lunker. For the victory, Tim took home a check for $425. All his fish were taken with a weightless Senko in very shallow water. 

In second among the competitors was Jesse Via who caught five bass weighing 10.32 pounds and pocketed a check for $212. Third place was won by Mike Naventi who earned $79 for his efforts.

Conditions the entire day were excellent. Water temps were mid 60's while the air warmed to the upper 70's. A moderate wind was present most of the day. Recent rain raised the very low water to near normal.

Jesse Via Wins on East Brimfield Reservoir 

ATHENS, Ala. – Jesse Via won the American Bass Anglers Division 97 tournament held May 17, 2015 on East Brimfield Reservoir in Sturbridge, Mass.

Jesse caught four bass weighing 7.81 pounds with a 3.08 pound kicker.  For the victory, Jesse took home a check for $451.  All his fish were taken with a weightless Senko in very shallow water.  Casting as far as possible away from the boat was required to avoid spooking the fish.                          

In second among the competitors was Mark Schultz who caught four bass weighing 6.66 pounds and pocketed a check for $254.

Conditions the entire day were excellent.  Water temps were mid 60’s while the air warmed to the upper 70’s.  A moderate wind was present most of the day.  A few nights of cold weather seems to have slowed the fishing way down, but these anglers figured out what they wanted.
