Welcome to the American Fishing Tour

Tom Dupuis Wins on Lake Lillinonah

Tom Dupuis won the RAM American Fishing Tour Connecticut Division 6 tournament, held on July 11th, 2015 at Lake Lillinonah.

Running out of the Steel Bridge ramp landing near the town of Brookfield, CT, the Terryville Connecticut angler caught a limit of five bass with an adjusted final weight of 10.03 pounds.  The tournament proved to be a challenge as it was a hot and sunny summer day bringing out numerous pleasure boaters and water skiers. In addition, there were three other tournaments going on at the same time and fishing the areas you wanted proved to be difficult at times. Tom said he caught the majority of his fish on a spinnerbait early in the day before the majority of the crowds and activity affected him. For the victory Tom took home a check for $294.00.

In second among the competitors, was John Ogolik, also from Terryville, CT. John caught his limit of five bass weighing 9.38 pounds by mainly flipping plastics to any available cover. John collected $94.00 for his efforts.

Taking third place, T.J. DeFelice from Trumbull, CT caught five bass weighing 8.91 pounds and it included the Big Fish of the day, a 3.22 pound largemouth.

Rounding out the top five were Jason Martinelli from nearby Roxbury, CT with 8.36 pounds for fourth place and Leon Dykas from Torrington, CT with a final weight of 5.72lbs.

The next division 6 tournament will be held on July 25, 2015 at the Connecticut River near Haddam, CT.  For more information about this Division and future events visit www.americanbassanglers.com or contact the local Director for Connecticut, Tom Dupuis at 860-583-2959.

These anglers accrued valuable points toward the Divisional Angler of the Year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of The Year Final Round at the RAM AFT Championship.  In addition, the top 500 anglers from the various divisions will earn the right to compete in the three-day ABA, RAM AFT National Championship tournament. The RAM American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points.
