Welcome to the American Fishing Tour

Doug Shrum Wins on Lake Maumelle

The Ram American Fishing Tour, Division 47 of American Bass Anglers contested its final one day tournament of the 2016 season at Lake Maumelle on February 13, 2016.  Fishing conditions were tough as a recent cold front dropped air and water temperatures and left a strong easterly wind blowing the morning of the tournament.  The bass had a good case of lock jaw but a few anglers managed to break the code.

Doug Shrum topped the field with a five fish limit for a total weight of 1.73 pounds.  Doug relied on a jerkbait and jig to haul in his limit.

Josh Ray took second place and also brought in a five fish limit weighing 10.68 pounds.  Josh relied on a jig and crankbait to fill his livewell.

Rounding out the top three was John Simonof who reeled in four fish for 9.07 pounds all caught on a homemade jig. John also caught the days big bass at 3.42 pounds.

1st place     Doug Shrum   10.73 pounds
2nd place    Josh Ray      10.68  pounds
3rd place    John Simonof   9.07 pounds
4th place    Rob Stone        6.06 pounds
