Welcome to the American Fishing Tour

Wilson Wins Division 47 Two-Day Championship on Lake DeGray

Division 47 of the Ram American Fishing Tour contested its two-day Divisional Championship of the 2016 season on Lake DeGray March 12th and 13th, 2016.  Recent heavy rains raised the water level five feet in the course of a few days and muddied many areas.  The bass were scattered and difficult to pattern.  However, a few anglers were able to figure out how to make the catch.

Blake Wilson topped the field with nine fish for a total weight of 18.67 pounds.  Blake relied on a jig and spinnerbait to catch his fish, bringing home a check for $850.

Doug Shrum took second place with eight fish for a total weight of 15.85 pounds.  Doug caught his fish on a jig and jerkbait.

Rounding out the top three, Dennis LaGrange reeled in seven fish for 15.75 pounds. Dennis used a jig and crankbait to catch his fish.

Big Bass of Day One weighed 3.79 pounds and was caught by Don Armbrust.  Dennis LaGrange caught Day Two’s Big Bass, weighing in at 3.55 pounds.

The most consistent angler from D47 this year was Blake Wilson, and named the Angler of the Year. Blake is eligible to compete against all other divisional AOYs for a new Triton/Mercury package at the National Championship on Lake Eufaula AL, in Oct 2016.
