Tidwell Triumphs on Guntersville
From division 29, Alabama North, Tony Tidwell of Horton, Alabama wins Lake Guntersville event with 19.97 pounds on June 25th. Tony caught most of his fish shallow, using a jig.
Wes Ward was the only competitor who broke from the jig to secure his second place finish and big fish honors with 17.21 pounds. Wes used a dropshot in deep water for his limit. Wes also caught the Big Fish of the event weighing 6.35 pounds.
Finishing third, Rayburn Cloud fished a jig to catch 15.69 pounds.
Taking fourth, Mitchell Smith caught 15.02 pounds.
There were 20 anglers competing, including four non-boaters. The day was hot and still. The heat index climbed to 102 degrees early, and stayed there until after weighin was concluded.

These anglers are acquiring valuable points to insure their birth in this division’s two-day championship and the American Fishing Tour National Championship that will be held this fall. At lake Eufaula. Their points are also being used to determine the divisional angler of the year. The top angler by points earned in this division will represent the division in the Angler of the Year final round.
