Welcome to the American Fishing Tour

Tom Dupuis wins on Lake Zoar

Tom Dupuis won the Ram American Fishing Tour presented by American Bass Anglers, Connecticut D6 tournament held  on July 9, 2016.

Running out of the State Ramp Landing near the town of Southbury, Connecticut, the Terryville, Connecticut angler caught his five bass mixture of largemouth and smallmouth weighing 10.07 pounds. Lake Zoar is not noted as a big fish lake and even catching a limit is sometimes a challenge. However, with it being cloudy all day long, it made for a perfect topwater day and Tom didn’t put his popper down and all his fish came on that presentation. For the victory, Tom took home $313.

In second among the competitors, Tom Sweeney from Glastonbury, Connecticut caught his five fish limit weighing 9.02 pounds. Tom said he caught his fish on a variety of plastic creature baits. He left with $128 in cash.

Taking third place was John Ogolik also from Terryville, Connecticut with a limit weighing in at 7.98 pounds.

Coming in fourth place was Pete Byrnes who caught five bass weighing 7.48 pounds.

Nunzio Prato came in fifth place with a weight of 6.83 pounds. This also included the Big Fish of the event weighing 3.58 pounds.

The next D6 tournament will be held on July 23, 2016 at the Connecticut River going out of Salmon River launch. For more information about this Division and future events visit www.americanbassanglers.com or contact the local Director for Connecticut, Tom Dupuis at (860)987-7371.
