Craft Takes Win on Stockton
Kansas angler, Eric Craft of Erie, Kansas took first place with a 5-fish limit that weighed 13.98 pounds, anchored with a 5.85 pound Big Bass of the event.
Coming in second place was Mike Dill with a weight of 13.83 pounds. His big fish weighed 4.49 pounds.
New member, Scott Emmit, came in third with a weight of 12.62 pounds.
The day began cool and cloudy with very little wind. Temperatures rose to upper 60’s with some sunshine. Anglers reported catching most of their fish on a jig in the upper part of the lake. Craft reported catching the Big Fish on lower lake.
This was the first in a series of tournaments conducted by American Bass Anglers, division 126, all held on Stockton Lake. This tournament series is a draw format and designed for the weekend angler, boaters and non-boaters, from age 14. An ABA membership costing $25 per year is required and allows anglers to fish any ABA tournament. Entry fee for D126 tournaments is $70 per angler with a $10 Big Bass option pot offered.
The next tournament for this circuit will be December 3, 2016 on Stockton Lake using Old State Park as launch site. The full 2017 schedule can be seen at www.centralmidwestbass.com. The season will culminate with a 2-day Championship, June 24-25, 2017. Anglers fish each tournament for cash and prizes from area sponsors including Pete’s, the Outboard Doctor, Albers Marine, Happy O’s, Legacy Farm & Lawn and Antlers Ridge, as well as points that qualify them to fish a National Championship set for October 18-20, 2017 on the Quachita River at Monroe, LA.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
The Ram American Fishing Tour offers low cost, close to home bass tournaments that are designed for the weekend angler. All ABA anglers fish for money and points. The points advance the angler to their divisional championship and the top 500 anglers in the US are invited to the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
