Holmberg Wins on Candlewood
Rick Holmberg of Bayport, New York won the Ram AFT event for Connecticut D6 held on April 22nd at Candlewood Lake.
Running out of the Lattins Cove ramp landing near the town of Danbury Connecticut, Rick caught a five fish limit of both largemouth and smallmouth bass weighing 16.82 pounds. Rick said he caught his fish on a combination of small plastics and a jerkbait fishing main lake points leading into small coves or pockets. It was off one of those points where he caught his big 5.23 pound smallmouth kicker for the big fish of the tournament. For the victory and big fish he took home a check for $490.
In second among the competitors, Jerald Trimboli from St. James New York caught his five fish bass limit weighing12.22 pounds. He pocketed a check for $212.00.
Taking third place, Tom Dupuis from Terryville Connecticut caught five bass weighing 11.08 pounds all caught on jerkbaits.
In fourth place Leon Dykas from Torrington Connecticut, caught the last five fish limit of the day weighting 8.61 pounds by throwing small plastics and hair jigs.

These anglers are earning valuable points toward the divisional angler of the year title. The points champion from each division will compete in the annual Ram American Bass Anglers AFT Angler of the Year Final Round at the Ram American Fishing Tour National Championship.
